Single Sided Tape
Single sided tape products are sold to a variety of industries such as automotive, textile, printing, garment, medical, aircraft, construction, agriculture, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and retail. Almost every individual or company has uses for single sided tape in their day to day work.
Single sided tapes are made up of two basic components, the carrier material and the adhesive. In some cases there will be a release liner that protects the layer of adhesive.
Carrier Material: The carrier can be made up of an endless variety of materials. The choice of materials used depends on the specific application requirement for that tape. Some of the most commonly used carriers are paper, cloth and poly films.
Adhesive: The adhesive used in single sided tapes depends on several factors such as, the carrier material it will be applied to, the surface material of the tape application, environmental condition, and adhesive strength needed. The most commonly used adhesive in the single sided tape industry is rubber based, but there are many other types used depending on the above factors.
